JHS Overdrive Preamp NAM Capture Pack

The JHS Overdrive Preamp is a faithful reissue of an ultra-rare early DOD 250 prototype, the "Big Box V1", predating even the famous grey box 250 that inspired decades of clones. Simple two-knob layout: Level sets overall output (with more headroom than the original), and Gain dials in everything from subtle grit to hard clipping distortion. A slider switch lets you choose between two different clipping arrangements pulled from two separate vintage units JHS tracked down during research, giving you two distinct pedals in one box.

These are pedal-only DI captures. Stack them in front of any amp NAM model in your chain. They pair especially well with my Laney GH100L and Tweed Deluxe 5E3 packs, both of which take boost pedals exceptionally well.

Because these captures preserve the natural behavior of the real pedal, different Gain/Level settings are intentionally recorded at their genuine relative levels. Please use your DAW or NAM's output controls to match loudness between presets to taste while keeping the underlying dynamics intact.
